Incognito 1986' Super-Skier
I purchased this boat two years ago for $1600.00. Everything worked and it ran very well. There was only one problem; it was ugly. So I decided to experiment and determine the cost to restore the boat compared to buying a new one. As you can see from the pictures this boat was on its way out as far as appearance goes. I wasn't sure if I wanted to put money into the boat due to its age. So; I asked myself a simple question; how much do I like my boat? After a bit of consideration I decided I was very pleased with the handling and performance of the boat and really the only reason I was looking to replace it was the appearance. After all; I already owned the boat and then figured the cost for a new boat comparable to this one; I decided to move forward with the restoration project. In the end the total job that was estimated as if I were a P.Y.S. customer was about half the cost of a new boat. This was a win win situation for me because my boat was fully restored, I prevented a bank payment and I did not have to go through the awkward process of having to learn a new boat again. So the bottom line is if you like your boat and you already own your boat you can simply maintain, repair, modify or in many cases completely overhaul your boat for a fraction of what it would cost to purchase a new one. So don't give up on your boat. Call P.Y.S. for an estimate or consultation and you too can see what a simple paint job can do for the overall look of your boat.
