This owner of this 44' Swan brought his boat to Portland Yacht Services for an Awlgrip job. This job was started like any other. First we estimate repairs needed, the customer signs the estimate and the work begins. During the estimating process hundreds of blisters were discovered and we realized this was not your average paint job. At that point we notified the customer as to what was found and gave him an estimate based on repairs needed to properly prepare the hull for the paint. It was determined that the most cost effective method of repair involved power-planning the entire hull. This would give us the working surface needed to move forward with the Awlgrip job. Keep in mind that when you remove as much material from the hull as we did material must be put back. So with that being said the project plan went like this.
